Our 15th annual “Summer Shuri Seminar” in Ohio this weekend!

With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Mr. Fernando Sanchez, a valued member of the I.S.A., yesterday - August 5, 2023.

He will be missed by all. Keeping him, his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. 🙏

On this day, as always, remembering our beloved teacher, Grandmaster Robert A. Trias.

As the Father of Karate in America, Grandmaster Trias had a long list of “firsts”: books, movies, seminars, tournaments, and ‘good will’ tours around the world, as well as, founding a complete Kobudo division utilizing a variety of Okinawan weapons, just to name a few. He spent his lifetime unifying martial arts styles & organizations world wide.

However, closest to his heart was his treasured system, Shuri-Ryu.

We were privileged to have been raised in the Hombu Dojo, in Phoenix, under the guidance of this great man.

His vision became our vision.

After his passing, the International Shuri-Ryu Association, was formed to fulfill our life long commission to carry on the propagation of our teacher’s precious system, Shuri-Ryu.

Today, the International Shuri-Ryu Association is the largest organization of Shuri-Ryu stylists in the world! Grandmaster Trias would be so proud to see his Shuri-Ryu alive & well.

A heart felt “Thank you” to each & every member, as it is YOU who have made this possible.

Thank you for your commitment, dedication, time, efforts, talent, energy and love.
