I know this is going to be a long post but bear with me please.
First let me say, I work a FT M-F job and then go home to design, produce & label ALL of my products while still trying to find a little time for chores, family & friends. I've been doing events since 2009 and I LOVE meeting all of you along with networking & making new connections. However, due to some injuries I've sustained over the last 5 years it's caused me to have to slow down... My body & I are aging like a fine wine and I find myself needing a little more room to breathe... just like the wine. 🍇🍷

These are my battles and guidelines I have set myself to follow for events this year.

A. $$$ COSTS $$$ - We all know that everyone is struggling with the everything about the economy in general. With that said, my ingredients, bottles, packaging, & shipping costs to just get my materials have skyrocketed and yes (lawd by the hundred) I have searched out other suppliers’ costs, but I won’t sacrifice the product quality you have come to expect from me (as you should😉) just to save a few pennies in the end!

You may see some products not offered anymore and you may see some new ones. If you have a favorite and don't see it, just ask. ;)
I have begun adjusting the retail cost of all my products and trust me when I say that I have HATED having to come to these decisions, but I thought it might be helpful for others to see what I'm looking at/thinking regarding business & events right now.

B. My setup style (Normal Tent vs Rusty Tub Bus) I am shifting from tent to bus.
LOCATION/DISTANCE FROM HOME - Depending on the type of event... no more than a 45min-1hr drive for me. Not including the drive, it takes a long time to set up(2hrs) & break down (1hr) if I have to do a physical tent. Once I'm operating out of the Rusty Tub bus...then the concern is the cost of diesel fuel & rising Commercial insurance rates. This also affects how frequently I would be able to set up.

C. EVENT FEES/LENGTH OF THE EVENT - As vendors the fees we pay can vary from FREE to OMG.... so y'all know we must budget ourselves. As I begin to use Rusty Tub Bus more, I then have to worry about the promotor fees because my space size changes. Some promoters charge for each 10x10 area and Rusty=30ft......so, you can see where I'm going with that too. For same reasons above... (for my business) 4hrs isn't enough time for the amount of my physical/financial investment. I would prefer a min of 6hrs (if VERY close to home) preferably 8-10hrs to a 2-3 day event that doesn't require breakdown daily and would have security.

D. LOAD/UNLOAD/SETUP AT EVENT LOCATION - I can no longer haul all the totes and tubs and move things any kind of distance. I am definitely looking for ease of use. Can I back right up and unload.... OR.... and for me these days if its an...OR... then it’s probably a no because I work alone most times.

Sooo 2023 is bringing a variety of changes!!!

I have been pondering recessions and depressions and the struggles we've heard our parents and grandparents talk about but most of us have never experienced. So whether it was making our own food, clothes, toiletries or learning to milk the cow that was when they/we dug in and learned new skills and life lessons that we still use and pass down today. Remember now...it is pressure that creates Diamonds you know. 😉
