Psalms 73:16-17 (NKJV)
When I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me—
Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end.

Many things in this life are challenging for us to understand: losing a loved one, health issues for ourselves or loved ones, losing a job, family struggles, financial problems, disappointment after disappointment. These are especially hard to understand when we see ungodly people prosper, thrive, and celebrate.

But we have a different point of view than the ungodly, for this world is not our home. We shouldn’t dwell on those things that are too painful for us, when the hurt cuts deep into our soul.

There is one place to go for understanding, and that is to God, our Heavenly Father… to be in His house, to be in His word, to be in conversation with Him in prayer, to be close to Him. This is where we begin to see that the things in this world don’t matter, and we are to have our eyes, ears, and hearts upon Him, the One who is ever faithful.

Instead of struggling in restlessness on our own, seek Him… for His peace surpasses all understanding that we may rest in Him.
