The QUEEN FLOWER SNOB has turned 63 today!
To say Holli Ackerman is a BADASS would be an understatement!
She opened her first shop, Payne’s Florist, when she was only 26 years old.
She not only bought a shop and raised it up, she paid for the private school education of her two kiddos (Carlie and Correy) and their select softball team dues and traveling fees, and everything else 2 girls need or want. She sold it to pay for our move to Tolar and to buy our Big red house on the hill.
She showed the hell up, every single day for her kids and her job to make sure that they knew exactly what success and love look like.
For us, success looks like her moss covered shirts hugging us at 11 pm when she got home from work during holidays. It feels like the aged hands from making countless corsages and arthritis. But still having her fingers wrapped around ours while we drive our hour long drive home from fort worth to Tolar for comfort and connection. It feels like laughter during the tough times and tears of happiness during the good. It smells like flowers, hot glue, fast food, and squishy water logged floor mats.
She made sure that we knew if we worked hard, we could still love hard. We can still follow our passion and be there for each other. Success looks like a neighbor in mom’s office asking for advice and mom building her up to follow her dreams. We are all so effing lucky to have this QUEEN in our lives and her love as our strength. BEST. BOSS/MOM. EVER.
