FORT WORTH IS CELEBRATING MARILYN!

This year marks what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, and Fort Works Art is honoring her enduring legacy with a summer-long cultural activation featuring photographs by Lawrence Schiller, including images from Marilyn’s final birthday celebration.

At the heart of the project is a special collaboration with Wild Silks. Together, we have created three exceptionally limited edition silk scarf featuring iconic Marilyn imagery photographed by Schiller. Just 50 scarves have been produced of each design, making them true collector’s pieces. Each scarf is presented in a custom lucite box designed to be repurposed long after the scarf is worn, as a display piece, keepsake box, or object for the home.

Collectors also have the opportunity to acquire rare photographs by , the only living photographer to document Marilyn Monroe. As institutions around the world commemorate her centennial, Schiller’s photographs remain among the most intimate and historically significant images ever created of the icon.

The celebration extends beyond photography through collaborations with some of Fort Worth’s most creative institutions, businesses, and local high school artists exploring Marilyn’s enduring cultural influence.

Additionally, the installation will feature a custom handbag, hand-painted by a Fort Worth artist exclusively for this event, transforming a luxury exotic accessory into a one-of-a-kind work of art inspired by Marilyn herself. 

To conclude the summer, will partner with , , , and for a major fashion event on August 22 at the gallery.

This marquee evening will bring together Fort Worth’s creative community for a celebration worthy of Marilyn’s centennial, featuring a runway presentation, special exhibitions, drinks and bites, other exclusive collaborations and a few surprises.
