Sister Abigail from Virginia, has embraced Islam. Alhamdulillah.*
That smile says it all. It’s the quiet joy of a heart that has found its way home. She chose Allah, she chose the truth, and now she’s part of a family that spans every continent and language.
But the caption reminds us of something we often forget: “sadly no Muslim welcomed her yet.” That shouldn’t be the story of any revert.
The hardest part for many new Muslims isn’t saying the shahada — it’s the days after. Wondering if they belong, if anyone will check on them, if anyone will answer their questions without making them feel small. Islam wasn’t revealed to be lived in isolation. The Prophet ﷺ said, _“The believers are like one body. If the eye is in pain, the whole body feels it.”_
So to you, Abigail: Welcome to Islam. Welcome to the Ummah. You’re not alone anymore. You have sisters and brothers across the world who are making du’a for you, even if you’ve never met them. May Allah keep you firm, make your path easy, and fill your life with barakah. Ameen.
And to everyone reading this: If Allah brought this post to you, take it as a reminder. Drop an “Ahlan wa sahlan” in the comments. Send a du’a. Be the reason a new Muslim feels seen today. One message can change everything.
