Our engineering team takes intentional time to sit down with new team members and teach them about culture, best practices, and the history of Ramsey engineering.

This is done face-to-face over lunch with leaders and new team members spending about 3 hours together. It's leader-driven and such a powerful way to set expectations.

This is how teamwork and trust are built from the beginning! 👏

💡 5-day SPRINT: How Product Squads Work💡

Day 1 - If you haven’t ever gone through the process before with your team, I’d encourage you to read the book Sprint by Jake Knapp and try it out! It’s a pretty cool tool that can be used for a variety of product discovery reasons.

Day 2 - Sketching & brainstorming ideas. Seeing what’s out there for inspiration & then group thinking & sketching around how we might design for the story map we created in day one.

The collaboration in a sprint is like no other! It will take you out of your comfort zone but also provide opportunities to appreciate the people you work with at a different level too. 🌱

Day 3 - Heat Mapping the sketches from day before & then storyboarding a prototype. So excited to see the ideas from the team come to life in a more tangible way!

Day 4 - Already building a mobile prototype & have members lined up to do user feedback sessions tomorrow 🙌🏼 With product, engineers, content & designers in the room, the discovery process is moving along quickly & with real-time collaboration. 🥰

Day 5 - The mobile prototype is COMPLETE in Framer & we have 5 customers lined up to walk through it this afternoon in real-time for the team to observe.

Engineers from our front-end chapter met together for a coffee hang a couple Fridays ago.

This was a great opportunity for them to take a break and get to know each other better over delicious, hot beverages ☕️

(Did we mention we have our own barista who creates our made-to-order lattes and mochas on demand? 😮)

What are lightning talks?

These are 5-minute talks the front-end engineering chapter gives when they meet monthly here at Ramsey Solutions.

Engineers sign up to share a topic they're passionate about or a project they're working on in order to raise awareness & share knowledge with their peers. This builds trust which allows the entire front-end team to work together faster and smarter.

(They also have fantastic snacks, so that's ALWAYS a win 🥑)
