3M has announced that it has acquired the technology assets of LeanTec, a provider of digital inventory management solutions for the automotive aftermarket segment in the United States and Canada.

This acquisition demonstrates 3M’s commitment to delivering digital advancements to support customers with an integrated connected bodyshop for the future of care and repair.

LeanTec’s technology complements 3M’s new RepairStack™ Performance Solutions, an ecosystem that enables what 3M calls the “connected bodyshop,” with end-to-end connectivity to improve shop productivity and profitability through simplified inventory management, material invoicing, and performance metrics and reporting.

LeanTec will continue to support its current software and hardware offering, Prophet-C, through November 30, 2022, at which time the LeanTec offering will be discontinued. All LeanTec customers will have the option of transferring to 3M’s robust RepairStack™ Performance Solution as an alternative solution.
