🎆 As America celebrates 250 years of independence, communities across the country are expected to enjoy bigger and more spectacular fireworks displays than ever before. While exciting for us, they can be terrifying for our pets.

The days surrounding the Fourth of July are some of the busiest of the year for animal shelters, as frightened pets bolt from homes and yards after being startled by fireworks.

Help keep your pets safe:
🐶 Make sure they're microchipped and your registration is up to date.
🏷️ Check that they have a collar with a current ID tag.
🏠 Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure room before fireworks begin.
🎵 Close windows, draw curtains, and play calming music or the TV to help mask loud noises.
🚪 Double-check gates, fences, and doors before letting pets outside.

A few minutes of preparation today can prevent a heartbreaking search tomorrow. ❤️

🐾 Please share this post to help keep more pets safe this Independence Day.

MALES in MAY special!!

We're discounting male surgeries by $30 in the month of May!
(That means a cat is $5 and a dog under 50 pounds with cone and pain meds is $45. The price is more for over 50 pounds but will still be discounted $30
(if your pet does not have proof of rabies it will receive one for an additional $10).
Animals need to be at least 4 months old. No dogs over 100 pounds.
Males will attract females from miles away. Males will try to produce a litter with any and all females that come along. Neutering males is essential for reducing pet overpopulation. These funds are specifically designated by the donor for males. This is only for pets of owners in Bedford, Coffee, Marshall and Moore counties. (If you live in other counties and need help call us and we will try to help with other income based funds).
Due to limited slots, appointments will be made on a first come, first served basis. Submitting your application does not guarantee an appointment. You must pre-pay at time of making appointment.
Female slots are still available in May, just not at a discount. Applications are on our website: www.mtsnc.org
Please mention this post when you're scheduling to get the discount.
