Simply Sharp Weddings

I remember watching on her wedding day as she made taking care of her son a priority above all that was happening for her & her husband this past May. I took note of her as she cared for her baby in her fresh hair & makeup. I admired the way she enveloped her son into the surrounding events. And I remember thinking to myself as I watched her putting him before her own needs on her wedding day, that it was the most accurate summation of motherhood there is. We sacrifice & we make choices for our babies before ourselves.

For the past year I’ve been navigating all of this myself with my twins. I’ve found that there is officially nothing that gives me greater joy than spending time watching them learn & grow, & being with them. It’s for this reason that I’ll be stepping away from weddings for now.

Almost exactly 4 years ago, I launched this business, & it has brought me SO much delight to guide couples through their planning & share in the happiness of their day. However, mothering, the mental load, & finding my own self again has been challenging (to say the least…multiplied by 2). I will be finishing out my weddings that are currently booked & will continue to work with venues who have me as a preferred vendor from time to time, but my priority for the foreseeable future will be William & James. This is not a goodbye (tea talks are always available & my website & DMs will remain open), but I will be taking a break to maintain my number one job.

Thank you for the past 4 years of wedding memories & beautiful moments. I am forever grateful to each of you who have helped make Simply Sharp Weddings successful, & I am excited to collaborate again when the time is right. Here is to the remainder & the future…& all the mothers who make our lives the best they can possibly be 🥂 💜
