A photographic celebration of inspirational people in portrait. In an effort to inspire and build up.

Here is a sneak peek of my most recent project I’ve been working on for the last several months.

Artist in Residence project at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

I’m in the process of exploring ways to present the project to the Good Shepherd Community.

This came together today as I was working on the writings and the images today. I’m so very near completing the project.

It’s been a very worthwhile project, meeting many of the individuals of the Good Shepherd Community.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Sally Martin over the years. And the pleasure has been all mine.

Signs…they are everywhere. Stay intuitive.

Waiting for Signs: Story of the Day

"I used to wait for a sign, she said, before I did anything. Then one night I had a dream & an angel in black tights came to me & said, you can start any time now, & then I asked is this a sign? & the angel started laughing & I woke up. Now, I think the whole world is filled with signs, but if there's no laughter, I know they're not for me."

This passion project grew out of a love of stretching my creativity and telling visual and written stories about everyday people who inspire me.

Hoping just one person/subject here inspires someone in a way that we might build a more compassionate community or connect the good within ourselves and around us.

Throw back Friday- a little about what my goal here is….

A few years ago in spring, I curated, organized and photographed my friend, and Candidate for the Inspiration Project- Julie Gaver.

I’ve long been an admirer of Julie Gaver and her efforts to gather women together to learn new things, ideas, or connect on some level in a meaningful way to be in a community of people putting service above self.

Whether it was a book club meeting to discuss the writings and ideas of notable authors such as Brené Brown or Mel Robbins and find new ways to grow, stretch or practice life more gently or meaningfully, to her garden parties welcoming women and businesses to gather in fellowship and bring copious amount of shoes for the children in need to have access to a new pair of shoes for first day of school and the new school year.

I came up with this idea to capture Julie with a huge, balloon-bouquet of flowers made of shoes to celebrate her offering of shoes and her love of blooms in gardens and planting seeds in each of us to bloom too.

Thank you Tammy O’Connor for your support and help creating the shoe bouquets for this project.

Can’t wait to create and curate more like this.

So blessed to see.
