My Story

Welcome to my in home daycare. My name is Ms. Gussie and I have over 30 years experience with children. I was a nanny in my late teens, A mother to a twenty three year old and have run my in home daycare for over 20 years. My single family home is located in Frederick, MD on four acres with lots of room to play. Easy access to 180, 270, 15, 70, 40, 85 and 340.

My in home daycare provides a loving, friendly, caring, fun, safe environment. Little Ones Daycare is a home away from home! Little Ones Daycare was established in 1999, I am licensed and credentialed through the Maryland State Department of Education at an Administrator Level. I have achieved a Quality Rated Program status through Maryland Excels. My in home daycare provides a friendly, caring, fun, safe and nurturing environment. I have created an atmosphere where children are encouraged to explore, experiment and socialize. My curriculum centers on the philosophy that children learn by playing and in doing so experience, social, emotional, physical and creative growth. I offer an atmosphere in which children are encouraged to try new things, stimulate their desire to take on new challenges and feel free to explore. All children in attendance are invited to engage at their own developmental level. Preschool actives to name a few include art, music, creative movement and dramatic play. I build opportunities for developing reading readiness with alphabet and site word memorization. I also introduce colors, numbers, shapes, handwriting activities, as well as basic math skills. Children who attend Little Ones Daycare will be given the guidance needed in order to learn knowledge and to grow through my meaningful ways of teaching. Children will be taught creative ways to explore, problem solve and to become independent. Play unlocks their imagination, enhances readiness, develops cognitive thinking, as well as further develops gross and fine motor skills. Through play children develop empathy, compassion and trust. Play overcomes language barriers, play allows children to learn to communicate emotions, be creative and solve problems. Sharing joy, laughter, and fun with others promotes bonding and strengthens a sense of community.
