Every day for the past few weeks, candidates in this race have been wasting money to attack each other. For me, as a working mom and experienced lawmaker, I just don’t have time for pettiness in a Democratic primary. People, we gotta focus on keeping this seat blue! The stakes are too high to get distracted from the importance of this seat and the real work that needs to be done. Now, I don’t have a problem putting up a fight, but I focus my energy fighting FOR our communities and not AGAINST other Democrats. And if a candidate can’t take the heat in a primary, how in the world are they going to deal with the tough personalities in Congress? As a two term lawmaker, I’ve had to work with some of the least collegial and most partisan elected folks in our state. And because I focus on solving problems for my constituents and not my own ego, I’ve been able to deliver results.
