Reasons why this event planner 👈 loves winter weddings... ❄️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In most parts of the country, the deep winter months (January, February and March) are the least popular for weddings according to the Knot.
I think each season is gorgeous in its own right, but I do think winter gets shafted a bit. I personally LOVE winter weddings and here are 5 reasons why...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. It's a slower time of year for most people so guests are excited and ready to get out. Sometimes the popular wedding months can get extremely overwhelming for guests when they have multiple weddings to attend back to back.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. You have your choice of vendors because it's a slower time of year in the industry. That means you'll likely get the A team for everyone you've hired making everyone's job easier and guest experience top notch.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. No hot and sweaty groomsmen or guests in suits (sorry but had to put it out there 😂). All of us in the industry know and feel so bad for those dressed up and sweating in 80/90 degree weather.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Less back-up plan decisions. Ceremony inside, reception inside. No constantly looking at the weather for 2 weeks. No multiple scenarios for whatever the weather may bring that day. The only thing that can really mess you up is a blizzard, but the chances of that happening are not likely.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. The vibe of a winter wedding can be pure fairy tale magic. Cozy venues, a crackling fire, deep winter color schemes, beautiful long sleeve gowns, stoles, winter coats, the potential for snowfall in the background!? I mean... 🥰
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I actually fell in love with the wedding industry when I worked my first wedding ever at a ski resort nestled in the mountains of Park City Utah, but that's a story for another day. So I am kinda partial to the winter vibe... and now maybe I've convinced a few 😉

Perks of being an event planner…
Getting fancy AF every week with leftover floral arrangements 🤣 lol
All jokes aside, even when I’m tired after a long event weekend, or just after a long day as a stay at home mama… I always put in the extra effort to make food look pretty… and I’ll tell you why…
You can make the yummiest dish, but I promise is tastes yummier when you’ve taken the time to dress it up. Much like putting on a cute outfit before going on a quick errand… it just makes you feel good and confident.
Use your china. Keep pretty platters and bowls very accessible for this reason. Take just a little extra time to create thoughtful food displays, actually dice the parsley for garnish (lol), set a pretty table, add flowers and use cute napkins.
It feels like a treat and “you deserve it”!!

So what do you need for a crab feast?
Day 2 of and we are sharing party ideas 👍 Piggy backing off of yesterday, a Crab Feast party idea for 4th of July is a great tradition to start!
🦀 plan on 5-7 crabs per person.
🦀 sides typically include fries, corn, hush puppies, and coleslaw.
🦀 dippers include melted butter, old bay, vinegar, and cocktail sauce. I get mini cups for each person to pick their dippers.
🦀 butcher paper to cover your table. It will get messy!
🦀 crab mallets and knives.
🦀 basket or bucket for crab shells.
I love setting up crab feasts for parties over the summer because it’s such a social activity. Picking through crabs with good drinks, good convo, and good music, around a table with family and friends. You can’t beat it!
