Christmas traditions can awaken long forgotten memories and feelings, from baking sugar cookies for Santa to the annual search for hidden gifts. In our home we always had a supper of New England corn chowder and grilled cheese sandwiches before we began the big event of selecting and decorating the tree - yes we did it all on Christmas Eve. I think back on all those wonderful nights in awe of how our mother made it appear so effortless; she was a marvel. While we slept she wrapped and decorated through the night, turning our home into a winter wonderland. We shared in the joy of everyone’s excitement around the tree and played games after dinner as a family. We are so grateful to have these memories and traditions to share.
