Today was a milestone in the movement to put learning about our physiology, first, while creating a path to health and human potential for the next generation.

Mile 42⛰️
~
I’ve come to view the years of this life as miles in a one hundred mile ultramarathon.
~
I’ve run over a dozen ultras so far, ranging from 30 to 200 miles. What I’ve come to appreciate most is how each mile holds a distinct set of lessons, each built on the foundation of the terrain we’ve recently traveled.
~
As I turn 42 years old today I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.
~
My heart and spirit are on fire for the miles ahead.
~
My mind is reeling from the lessons of the past year, which I hope to fully absorb while tearing up the trails ahead.
~
Reflections…
~
In June I left our campus in the U.S in the hands of our incredible community. Thank you to our Freeport, Maine community for holding down the fort, and raising the bar for what it means to be a team👊🏽❤️
~
We are opening our first UK campus in exactly 30 days🇬🇧🧠🔥 Grateful for our many UK leaders in helping to bring the dream of taking Physiology First global, and unlocking the doors of health and human potential for the next generation, to life.
~
Partnering with to create the evolution of education for families across the globe this year is among my deepest honors.
~
As I pass another mile marker on the longest run of all, my heart turns towards 3 things.
~
Impact. Personal development. Relationships.
~
Physiology First has made an imprint on the future this year-and we’re only getting started.
~
I’ve grown in many of the ways I’ve aimed towards this year. And in the ways in which the necessity of growth finds and forms us all. And, I’ve never been happier than I am today.
~
My relationships are fewer, closer, and compromised of some of the most solid people in the world.
~
It’s been a hell of a run so far!
~
I want to thank everyone who has supported our work at Physiology First over the years.
~
From my heart-we couldn’t do this without you.
~
And I want to thank one special person more than words can express. Alison, thank you for the safari, and for showing me the depth of what partnership embodies🐘🐘

Here’s to mile 42 and to kicking up some dust this year⛰️🔥

Got into a motorcycle accident yesterday.
~
I was riding on a familiar road, doing 35 miles per hour, when someone ran an intersection.
~
I squeezed the brake hard and brought the bike down. ~
A more experienced rider might have been able to swerve, but I didn’t want to risk the dude in the car braking as well, and me plowing straight into him.
~
I blacked out and woke up in an ambulance.
~
This is the first time I’ve lost consciousness. I’m amazed by how our bodies know what to do without conscious direction.
~
The police said they found me standing in the road, working to get my helmet off, with a broken thumb. I have no memory of this at all.
~
The bike suffered some damage, and I ended up with a concussion and some scrapes. Plus the broken thumb.
~
For anyone reading this, I wrote it with my index finger😉
~
The lesson is not to stop exploring thoughtful, intuitive, present, physical activity like riding motorcycles. It’s to not be driving obliviously on autopilot, and plowing through intersections in cars😎
~
And NEVER pull out suddenly in front of a motorcycle🙏🏽
~
The intelligence of the body is unparalleled.
~
Far often surpassing the intelligence of those who try to analyze it…
~
Our work at Physiology First is centered on the fact that a natural response to an unnatural environment is never a “disorder.”
~
It’s order.
~
The greatest investment of the 21st century is learning how our brain and body functions🧠🔥
~
Grateful for the opportunity to continue doing this work, particularly after a crash that could have been much worse.
~

Our team at Physiology First is building the most comprehensive health education and health optimization program for youth in existence.
~
A new world is emerging on the horizons of innovation, creativity, and a new vision for the future that supports the health of the generation preparing to lead it.
