PUBLIC INFORMATION; Fremont, CA—The Fremont Fire Department is currently on scene of a natural gas leak near the intersection of Mission Blvd. and Curtner Road. Residents in the adjacent homes have already been contacted and temporarily evacuated as crews and PGE work to mitigate the incident.

The Fremont Police Department has assisted us with several road closures in the area. Please avoid the area along Mission Blvd, from 680 to Paseo Padre Pkwy.

There is currently no risk to the community beyond the closed and evacuated hazard zone.

Today, the Fremont Fire Department, along with Washington Health and Falck, were recognized for their exemplary performance on a critical medical incident that occurred in the City of Fremont on May 7, 2026.

On May 7, 2026, Engine 55 responded to a medical emergency involving an adult male patient who was found to be in cardiac arrest and not breathing on the Mission Peak trail. Fremont Fire crew members, along with Falck Paramedics/EMTs, demonstrated expert deployment of advanced life-saving interventions.

The patient was later released from the hospital, an outcome that directly reflects the importance and quality of the care provided on scene. The good work on this incident had a direct and lasting impact on the patient, his family, and the community we serve.
