💜 SAPHAL: South Asian Parents/Caregivers Heal and Learn 💜

On May 31st, Narika welcomed South Asian parents, caregivers, grandparents, aunts, and uncles for a full day of learning, reflection, and connection through our SAPHAL workshop.

Together, participants explored the SAPHAL framework for building healthy relationships with youth while navigating the unique experiences of South Asian families. Through thoughtful discussions and shared experiences, we reflected on topics including culture, discipline, love, boundaries, communication, obedience, and family connection.

Parenting across generations and cultures can bring both opportunities and challenges. What made this workshop so meaningful was the chance to learn from one another in a supportive, culturally responsive space where every voice was valued.

A special thank you to our facilitator, Sangita Biswas, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, for guiding participants through conversations that were insightful, practical, and deeply relevant to the experiences of South Asian families.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped create a day filled with learning, healing, and community.

🧡 NARIKA HEALTHY PARENTING WORKSHOP IN UNION CITY ON MAY 31

Narika is offering a FREE, one-day, healthy parenting workshop SAPHAL, under Narika’s prevention program, in collaboration with Lotus Therapy.

✨ The workshop will be offered in Union City on Sunday, May 31, 10AM-4 PM. Please see the flyer attached. This workshop is open to anyone in the community- all caregivers and parents welcome!

✨ The workshop will be taught by Sangita Biswas and largely conducted in English, although the facilitators speak Hindi and Bengali as well
