A very important message from our friends @ the Fremont Police Department about a claiming to be a legitimate call when its really scammers on the other end!
Watch out for calls from scammers who pretend to be from reputable organizations! Criminals often disguise their number to get you to pick up—they may even show up as “Fremont Police Department” on your caller ID. They’ll claim that your information has been leaked, or that you’re part of an ongoing investigation. If they ask you to share personal information, confirm an account or transfer funds, don’t fall for it! While it may look like our official number, 510-790-6800, it’s actually a scam caller. The Fremont Police Department will never ask, solicit or demand money via a phone call.
When responding to an unexpected call, be careful with your money and personal information. Do not provide cash payment, account information or money transfers to anyone claiming to be from the Police Department, the City, the County, the Courts, or a government official. Learn more at fremontpolice.gov/scams.

A very important message from the Fremont Police Department & the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department
about Criminal Trespassing in the Niles Creek Area: Subject to Citation and Arrest
Planning a Memorial Day picnic this weekend? If your plans include a day at Niles Creek, think again! Swimming or gathering in the Niles Creek area is both illegal and unsafe, and officers will be on patrol in the area this weekend, keeping an eye out for trespassers.
The Niles Creek and surrounding lands are off limits and trespassing into the creek area can be punishable by arrest per California Penal Code 602(O)(1). The Fremont Police Department is working in conjunction with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Alameda County, and Cal-Trans, to enforce trespassing laws in the Niles Creek and surrounding lands. Violators will be cited and/or arrested. Additionally, vehicles found to be illegally parked will be cited and/or towed.
We understand the desire to cool off during hot weather, but the Niles Creek has many hidden dangers, and people have lost their lives while swimming in this area. Please use an alternate location to have your outdoor gatherings or to cool off in the water. Public options are listed below:
Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area | East Bay Regional Park District (2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536)
Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area | East Bay Regional Park District (2500 Stanley Blvd, Pleasanton, CA 94566)
