Say hello to your AAF Fresno Board President, Brandon Ocegueda. His mission: build community and spark fresh ideas. For him, joining AAF Fresno is his way of contributing to the community that shaped his career while creating spaces for designers, marketers and storytellers to connect, collaborate, and grow.
Brandon is also Senior Web Designer at HYPHEN, where he crafts digital experiences that push brands forward. His big break came while at Fresno State working for The Collegian and gaining real-world experience with real clients and tight budgets, while building his portfolio and getting career-ready. He later took on a part-time gig at JP Marketing (now HYPHEN), which catapulted him into the industry and led him to a Best of Show win at the American Advertising Awards for the JP Marketing website.
When he is not leading the AAF Fresno board or creating award-winning design campaigns, Brandon is giving back by teaching design classes at Fresno State and mentoring up-and-coming talent in the Valley.
Like many great leaders, Brandon loves to relax on the golf course. If he is not golfing, he is probably spending time gaming. Brandon has stated that if pro gaming was an option back in the day, he’d probably be a streamer on Twitch right now. When he isn’t golfing, gaming, or giving back to the creative community, Brandon is settling down with a nice, cold bowl of rocky road ice cream.
His advice to the emerging creatives that he teaches: “Build genuine relationships. The people you meet now might become your collaborators, mentors, or biggest cheerleaders later.”
