On this episode, Chris Jarvis and Kaylia Metcalfe interview Monte Forkas for Fresno City Council District 1 in Fresno as an openly q***r candidate.

Then we dive into the 1919 FDR s*x sting operation and the statement from the Fresno Arts Council about their recent embezzlement scandal.

Then…it's raining di**os against ICE, Q***r Kickball, Q***r Line Dancing, Aunt Tifa, how to ingest your daily news, Fresno Pride, Porchfest, how to rate crotches, and the 1970’s VS 2026.
Enjoy!

The celebration keeps going! 🌈
We’re thrilled to continue announcing the Grand Marshals for the 36th Annual Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade & Festival, please help us celebrate the amazing volunteers behind It's a Q***r Thang - Podcast, Chris and Kaylia! 🎉✨

Kaylia Metcalfe:
"I have lived in Fresno for almost 15 years and love my adopted city. As a q***r writer, editor, podcast producer, and activist, I have truly felt accepted here and am so honored to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community of the Central Valley. Besides helping run the Fresno LGBT Center with Gay Central Valley, I have worked in other areas of nonprofit work championing Transgender and Women’s Rights as well as Universal Healthcare. Currently, I cohost and produce the It's a Q***r Thang Podcast and volunteer with a variety of progressive groups, both locally and nationwide. I love reading, coffee, my amazing daughter, playing kickball with the Sapphic Mafia, and fighting against injustice. I strongly believe that it is the moral responsibility of those with privilege or power to make the world a better place for those without. It’s never too late to try new things, to make a difference, and to find a way to help others."

Chris Jarvis:
"Being an LGBTQ activist in Fresno and the Central Valley for over 20 years has been one of greatest joys of my life. Being able to speak out for others who are not able to is both a calling and a gift. From co-founding a q***r nonprofit, an LGBTQ Community Center, and moving on to a q***r history project and cohosting and producing the podcast “It’s A Q***r Thang” has been extremely rewarding. Only together can we stand as a q***r community. Only together can we move forward. Speak out hope yourself. Speak out for others. Speak out."
