We are kicking our monthly luncheons back off for this year by welcoming Kevin Tuttle Assistant Public Utilities Director with the City of Clovis as our speaker this month. He will be presenting on two very important topics: Water Rate Studies and Steel Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation.

Today our engineering community concluded their Toys for Tots campaign. Every year the ASCE YMF Branch leads up a local Toys for Tots collection drive. Local engineering firms collect new and unwrapped toys, that will be disturbed to kids throughout the community. Every year we conclude our part of the campaign with a big drop off at Hederick’s Chevrolet. Thank you to all of those who donated, and to the volunteers who helped make this year’s event a success!

Congratulations to all of our ASCE Section Award Winners! We had multiple Branch awardees go on to win in their categories at the section level. We had many representatives from our Branch attending the awards banquet in San Francisco this past Friday. It was great to see so many awardees from the Fresno Branch. Great job!!!

Yesterday we welcomed the new year by having our first luncheon of 2025. Garth Fernandez, Central Valley Regional Director for the California High Speed Rail Authority came out to give us an update on the California High Speed Rail. Thank you Garth for coming out and speaking with our group yesterday.

He will be sharing an update on the construction progress on the nation's first high speed rail system. He will also be sharing information on the funding, current construction costs within the City of Fresno, along with safety improvements and projected milestones.
