Hurricane Season, which can bring flooding, has started. Even though a flood may be the result of a hurricane, if water gets into your home through rising water, even due to hurricane rains or storm surge, it can only be covered through Flood Insurance. Your homeowners and/or Windstorm policy will not cover it. Don't depend on FEMA to bail you out.
