Next Chapter Social
We amplify the digital presence of small businesses through tailored social media strategies.
Trends are a delivery method. Not a strategy.
If you are hopping on every trending audio without asking whether it actually fits your message, you are creating content for the algorithm and confusing the people who were almost ready to buy from you.
Messaging first. Always. The trend is just the wrapper.
Shannon McKinstry taught us a formula at Social Media Marketing World that changed how we approach every piece of content we make. It is called RISE.
R is Recognizable. Name the brand. Name the tool. Name the Trader Joe's bag, the Stanley cup, the Ryobi drill. Specific references create instant pattern recognition.
I is Identity. Who is this for? Toddler moms. Corporate professionals. Women over 50. Enneagram 3s in perimenopause. The more specific, the more she stops scrolling.
S is Specific. The scenario. The detail. The number. Under $25. The 4 to 7pm chaos. 10 minutes before bed. Vague does not convert.
E is Effect. The payoff. What will she feel, save, gain, or stop doing if she takes your advice. This is the part most creators forget.
Run every reel through this filter before you post. If your hook is missing 2 or more of these, rewrite it.
6 months of trend-chasing without messaging gets you a dead grid and a tired soul. 6 months of RISE-driven content gets you an audience that actually buys.

Most marketing isn’t broken. It’s just unaudited.
7 questions. Answer them honestly. DM us your score if you’re brave.
→ Screenshot this and answer it before your next strategy call.
→ Send to the business partner who needs to see your real numbers.
The "read the caption" sticker trend is over.
If your hook only works because you told people to scroll down, that is not a hook. That is a tax on their attention.
7 second reels are not dead. They still work when the hook actually delivers something. A surprising line. A clever visual. A pattern interrupt that earns the next 10 seconds.
Then the caption picks up where the hook left off. Add the context. Add the story. Add the takeaway. Let the B roll carry the visual while the words do the work.
The shift is small. The result is not.
If your reels are getting views but no saves, no shares, no comments, your hook is doing all the lifting and your caption is taking a nap.
Even better.... give the full story in the video through audio or text, and keep the caption simple.
We just got back from Social Media Marketing World with a notebook full of what is actually working in 2026. We are breaking it down piece by piece on YouTube. Link in our bio for the full conversation.
