I had to go get a document notarized for me (since I can't notarize my own documents) at UPS the other day, and the girl doing it for me basically told me her manager handed her a stamp and told her she was a notary. No training. 😳 And yes, that's still legal here in Texas.

So I basically had to walk her through how to sign my acknowledgement, and even then she did something wrong 😬 I guess UPS doesn't understand that they could get hauled into court for these forms, especially if they're done wrong 🤷‍♀️

All this to say, yeah you can go to UPS and have it done cheap, but you get what you pay for. Those of us doing this independently have been trained and licensed to notarize your documents correctly, legally.
