No matter who we are, or what our background may be, we all share a common need- God's forgiveness and redemption through Jesus Christ. Watch Sunday's sermon on Acts 16:11-40!
Acts 16:11-40 The Gospel in Europe In this sermon, Pastor Josh looks at Acts 16:11-40 and how God used Paul and Silas to spread the gospel to Europe.

The early church, in Acts 15, was facing a colossal issue that would have a far reaching impact upon the Church. The issue was by what means is a person saved from their sin and declared righteous before God? Was it by grace or law? Faith or works? There were some influential religious people who were saying, “Unless a man is circumcised (v.1) and required to obey the law of Moses (v.5) you cannot be saved.”
For us today who have the inspired Holy Scriptures it is an easy answer but for the early church it required a council to settle the matter once and for all. After studying the Dissension and Discussion this Sunday we will look at the council’s Decision this upcoming LORD’s day. Until then take some time to read, meditate and even memorize some of the following Scriptures. These are good to know to not only help solidify your own faith but to equip you when your faith in God’s grace is challenged.
Romans 3:20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. 21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.
Galatians 2:15 "We know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Although we believe that a person is saved by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone we also believe that a true saving faith will never be alone. A life that has been saved by grace will be a life that is destined for good works (Ephesians 2:10).
"The man of faith, without being driven, willingly and gladly seeks to do good to everyone, serve everyone, suffer all kinds of hardships, for the sake of the love and glory of the God who has shown him such grace." ~ Martin Luther
