So I wanted to make a melomel for the first time. I originally wanted to do 1 pound of honey in a gallon. The yeast didn't seem to want to start even with a nutrient. I switched it to 3 pounds because I did 2 pounds the last time. I added a cup of strawberries to it as the fruit and will let it sit for 6 weeks until it is done and then bottle and age the mead. When it first started it smelled heavenly with strawberries and honey. Now after 2 days it is getting that old sulfur smell.
