It’s happening! The Fullerton Drone Lab is going international. We are headed down under to Sydney in January 2027 to study drone photography and cinematography. It’s a great experience for students to build skills and their international network. It’s the first international training for Drone Tech and the first time Fullerton College students are going to Australia. Let’s Go! So, industry friends in Australia, let’s connect. 🇦🇺

The day has finally arrived! The application window for the first cohort of the Bachelors of Science in Drone and Autonomous Systems degree program at Fullerton College is now officially open! This marks the first bachelor’s degree in drone technology on the West Coast (ERAU is global, so I don’t count it as a technicality. 😆). It also marks the first-ever bachelor’s degree program at Fullerton College, opening a new chapter at one of the state’s longest-running colleges. Applications are being accepted through February 28, 2026. I’m looking forward to welcoming the students in Fall 2026 and preparing them as leaders in the workforce of tomorrow!

Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva joined OCBC and Fullerton College to celebrate a $249,555 California Jobs First Catalyst Funding Award for Fullerton College’s Autonomous Systems Technician Training Hub. The hub will provide comprehensive workforce training in autonomous systems maintenance, operations and integration, ensuring that graduates are prepared for careers in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing and other high-tech sectors. The curriculum will focus on core technical training, industry certifications, work-based learning and green technology and sustainability. Once implementation ready, the program aims to directly train approximately 100 students annually, that leads to good-paying jobs with an average starting salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
