Looking back at a great week in the woods! 🌲Last month, we were honored to welcome the Florida Forestry Teachers' Tour back to our forests.

Educators from across the state joined us to get a firsthand look at sustainable forestry, modern land management, and the wide variety of careers available in the timber industry. We love this event because it gives teachers the real-world knowledge and resources they need to bring the story of sustainable forestry back to their classrooms.

Thank you to all the dedicated educators who spent time with us, and to the Florida Forest Service, Florida Forestry Association, Florida Project Learning Tree and Friends of Florida State Forests for making this tour possible every year!

There are teachers from all over Florida running around the Austin Cary Forest campus today (June 17, 2026) pretending to be trees, then flapping their arms like birds all while learning lessons about ecosystems and forests that they can infuse into their curriculum.

We were so happy to host more than 40 educators taking part in the Florida Forestry Teacher Tour organized by Florida Project Learning Tree Coordinator Emily Blum.
