🌟☢️ That’s a wrap on the 2026 American Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual House of Governance Meeting & Educational Symposium in Albuquerque, New Mexico!!!!☢️🌟 We are so proud of Class of 2026 senior Asa Walden, our SLDP participant, for representing our program and all the amazing radiologic technology students across Georgia during the week. From sitting with the Georgia Delegates while policies were taking shape to meaningful learning during the educational sessions, he was able to see firsthand the importance of how being an active participant in state and national societies can shape a technologist’s career. We even had an opportunity to visit the ASRT Museum, met Bill Brennan, the curator, tried on (very heavy, very hot 🥵) lead from the early 1900s, and even snagged a photo op with Roentgen himself! 🤩 Truly, our profession is pretty RAD in every way!! 🙌🏻🌟☢️

All we can say is 💥WOW💥!!!!
This past week Erika accompanied our program’s two State Gold medalists, Ana (Career and Technical Educator) and Ben (Prepared Speech) to the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA!!! During the week, they both competed against other state winners in their respective contests💪🏻, traded LOTS of pins 🧷, walked about 50 miles😅, and they both scored high enough to qualify for a GOLD medal🌟….AND Ana won the very first NATIONAL SkillsUSA medal EVER for our program, earning SILVER 🪙!!!! We could not be more proud of Ben and Ana - you both are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!🤩
Special shout out to KTO - your pin was a HUGE hit and helped Ana get all the rare specialty pins🦩🫈🚗🦫🌻!!!!

And don’t worry, we will make sure your pop quiz legacy lives on 🤭💫

What started as a project in Rad Bio has ended up as an opportunity for our students to professionally present at the May Education Meeting of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists!!!☢️🤩 From the Demon Core in the 1940s to Kyshtym in the 1950s, to Enrico Fermi Unit 1 in the 1960s, Church Rock in the 1970s, and finally Goiania in the1980s, our students took us on a journey to some of the lesser known radiation safety events. We are so proud of Zoie, Ben, Asa, Robert, and Marley-they truly did a FANTASTIC job!!! 🎉💛
