Riverside Preparatory Academy

As our underclassmen were getting ready for final exams this week, they were treated to a cookout of burgers and hot dogs at the Class of 1966 Family Park. The school year comes to an end of Thursday, when final are finished and the annual Underclassmen Awards Ceremony and 8th Grade Elevation ceremonies are held. It's been a good year at Riverside, and we wish all of our students a happy summer. See you in the fall.

Our final senior spotlight is on Justin Tatem. 🎓

Justin Tatem joined us in 2024 and hasn't slowed down since. As captain of both the baseball and football teams, he brings a perfect balance of confidence and "fun" to every practice.

Justin isn't just focused on the next game—he's focused on the next gear. ⚙️ He plans to attend trade school to become a diesel mechanic and eventually open his own business.

Our next Senior Spotlight is on Jacob Kronk. Kronk exemplifies leadership, discipline, and dedication in everything he does. A standout senior in the Corps of Cadets, Jacob consistently led with professionalism, responsibility, and a positive attitude throughout his time at Riverside Preparatory Academy.

As Drill Team Captain, Jacob displayed exceptional commitment and precision, playing a key role in leading the team to a State Championship 🏆. He also contributed to Riverside athletics through baseball and served the school in multiple leadership roles, always setting a high standard for those around him.

Jacob’s impact extended beyond the field and drill deck. As Battalion S-1, he managed critical administrative responsibilities with attention to detail and pride in the mission. A member of National Honor Society, Jacob also represented Riverside through yearbook and open house events, showcasing true Eagle Excellence.

Originally from Leesburg, Georgia, Jacob will attend Kennesaw State University, where he has earned acceptance into the Honors Nursing Cohort Program. He has enlisted in the Army National Guard Infantry and plans to participate in ROTC, continuing his commitment to service while pursuing academic excellence.

Jacob’s future is grounded in leadership, service, and a desire to help others—and Riverside is proud to have been part of his journey.

Today's senior spotlight is Jacques Chiller 🏈🏀🏃🎶

A true multi-talented student, Jacques has represented our school in football, basketball, track, and band throughout his high school career. His hard work, leadership, and dedication have made an impact both on and off the field.

After graduation, Jacques plans to continue his football career at Berry College. We can’t wait to see all he accomplishes at the next level!

Riverside Prep celebrated the Class of 2026 with a series of events over the weekend on our historic campus.

It began Friday with a military parade and our annual Silver Taps Ceremony, which honors the memory of alumni who have died in the past year. It concluded Saturday morning with the formal Commencement Ceremony on McLendon Quadrangle.

During Saturday's Commencement ceremony, we were honored to welcome back one of our own, BG (Ret.) Stephen M. Rutner, a graduate of the Class of 1981, as Commencement speaker.
