That's a wrap on our Storm Ready Storytime!

Alachua County Emergency Management would like to sincerely thank the members of our community that showed up to participate at one of our amazing libraries.

We would also like to that our guest story readers, Alachua County Fire Rescue Chief Jeff Taylor, City of Newberry - Government Kimberly Wilson, High Springs Fire Department Kevin Mangan, and Town of Micanopy Sara Samario!

Of course, none of this could have been possible without the Alachua County Library District and their amazing staff that provided the scheduling, staff, and space for these events.

We had so much fun connecting with the younger members of our community and teaching them a little bit about disaster preparedness and safety, that we have decided that this will be a yearly (or maybe even more) event for our community.

As we continue into hurricane season, let's not forget the importance of community strength and family preparedness.

The kids in Alachua had a great time and created some amazing disaster kits!

We will be there from 10:30am to 11:30am, so bring your kids down, have some crafting fun, and learn a little about emergency preparedness!
