Cox eMail migration assistance for THUNDERBIRD users:
The Cox eMail migration can be a real headache for Thunderbird (Windows-based application) as opposed to Yahoo WebMail (web-browswer-based) and other 3rd party eMail clients (programs). I was on the phone with Yahoo techs for 2 hours and they still couldn't make Thunderbird work with their eMail servers. I figured-out what needed to be done on my own and offer my services for a fee. Please note: I do not use Outlook and do not know how to make Yahoo eMail work with Outlook or other eMail client applications - I only know Thunderbird. Also note: I have eight (8) .cox.net eMail addresses. I had to solve how to make all of them play nice together with both Yahoo WebMail and Thunderbird.
If you use a 3rd party eMail client; Most important things to note:
During your setup, Do NOT choose to use POP3, rather choose IMAP. Choosing POP3 will cause you to permanently lose all your existing/old messages if they are not already stored in local (not server) folders. Storing existing messages on the server is the default and common method for storing messages, not local folders (and I use both methods).
I will charge $30 per eMail account to complete setting up moving from Cox to Yahoo and then configuring Thunderbird as your eMail client. If you need to use Outlook or some other Windows eMail client, I can probably figure it out. However, I would charge by the hour at $60/hr for the time it takes to figure it out and complete the configuration. If you decide to use my services, PLEASE NOTE:
1) You will either need to bring me your computer complete with your Windows Account Log-in Username and password and your existing .cox.net email account name(s) and password(s) OR,
2) Allow me to "Remote-In" to your computer to perform the work (and have those same account names and passwords available.
- I recommend you change your password(s) once my work is completed.
