𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 “𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞”.

Not to my face. On notes two doctors passed between them during a family meeting I requested because my mother-in-love was critically ill and dying.

I never would have known had my sister-in-love not looked at the piece of paper as it was passed in front of her.

This is why I advocate for others.
This is why I teach communities how to advocate for themselves.

And this is why I work with hospitals and medical/dental/nursing/pharmacy schools to train clinicians how to restore humanity in the exam room.
For their patients… and for themselves.

Because flippant doctors and nurses aren’t bad people. They are usually good people who have had their empathy drained from them one patient encounter in broken systems at a time.

My mother-in-love survived that hospital stay. I know it was because of my advocacy.
And while she’s no longer with us, I will forever be grateful for being persistent. If that’s “high maintenance”, I’m buying the T-shirt.

We don’t want our patients and families having these kind of experiences. We can do better.

When I launched Your GPS Doc in 2017, I had a dream, a desire, and a calling to provide information, support and advocacy for patients and families navigating the complicated healthcare system.

Over the last 9 years, my company has grown and evolved in ways I could never imagine.
There have been pivots— things that worked and things that did not work.
One thing has been consistent— EVERY step has led to the next.

In 2026 there is a unifying theme- Your GPS Doc is a training company.

We haven’t abandoned our roots, we’ve expanded them. We work with the following 3 audiences:
✅ Hospitals, Healthcare Organizations, and Professional schools who want to transform clinical care and address clinician burnout through the restoration of human connection and empathy
✅ Physicians exploring a career in Professional Healthcare Advocacy who want a roadmap and expert business coaching
✅ Faith-based and community organization leaders who want to be the catalyst for eliminating health inequities through self-advocacy and healthcare navigation training
