About 15 girls joined us ay Flourish Community Hub for a cooking class hosted by Young Ladies with a Purpose Inc. The place smelled like chicken and waffles when they were done. 😋 We can't wait to have these ladies at the Hub again!

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

In a lot of our families, asking for help sounds like this:
“Pray about it.”
“What happens in this house stays in this house.”
“Therapy is not for us.”

We said those things because that’s what was passed down. Not because it was true, it was about survival. When the world already watches you, judges you, and makes assumptions about your family, asking for help can feel like giving people more ammunition.

Counseling doesn’t erase your faith. It doesn’t replace your mama’s or granny’s wisdom. It gives you a space to breathe, process, and heal.

Flourish Hub offers FREE counseling for youth and adults in Gary. Licensed clinicians. In-person or virtual. No hoops. No waitlist drama.
