The next step in turning these blocks into a carved scoop is taking it to the bandsaw. I removed much of the waste and continued to refine the shape.
We needed a scoop for our cat food. We keep a small bag of food handy in the kitchen cabinet, but we like to buy in bulk to save. With the tiny scoop we had, it took forever to refill the small bag. Not now! It takes about 3 scoops and we are done. Fanciest cat food scoop?
This is a throwback to last year when I made some friends this huge, live-edge cutting board. She uses this thing a ton still to this day, as is evident by all of the knife marks I saw on it just the other night. They held a party at their house and it was cool to see all of the use this board has received.
She never puts it away...just keeps it out on the counter and literally uses it for everything. That makes me happy.
