A delayed welcome to new assistant, Jordan Jamar. Not only am I lucky to have her, but our clients have been and will be delighted when she is on the other end of the phone and helping out with their cases!

About Jordan: Jordan graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2018 and is currently working toward earning a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military Culture and Families. She has worked as a mental health professional in various settings for the last 9 years, previously leading Williamson County’s mobile crisis outreach team at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services, responding to those experiencing mental health crises in the community and facilitating treatment in order to ensure safety and prevent incarceration. Most recently, she worked for a county program providing case management services to youthful offenders. She has served clients of all ages and backgrounds, and uses this experience to help those in the criminal justice and CPS systems.

I love when I can mix up a hectic criminal docket day with an ADOPTION! It's weird being the adoption attorney and not the child's attorney, but I'll take it!

Special thanks to Judge Brandy Byrd Hallford and adoptions caseworker. Jessi Sternat. It was my first case with Jessi and she's the real deal. Kids on her caseload are in great hands. (And she just knew to coordinate our outfits!)

Money in exchange for legal services is always nice. But it's the unexpected tokens of appreciation from my clients that really bring me joy.

Last night, after closing a case in a very positive way, I was given a handmade ring. Such a special gift and unique way of learning about a client's hidden talent!

There are good people out there and I'm lucky to be able to help them.
