Make sure to follow these important tips to help prevent fires from your clothes dryer!

Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.

Congratulations Recruits!!
Georgetown City Fire Department had the privilege of hosting a joint recruit class that included recruits from Georgetown City Fire, Midway Fire Rescue and Surfside Beach Fire Departments. Instructors were fantastic and every Recruit that started, completed through the Firefighter II level. Great job all involved!
