Where Pride and Tradition Meet!

Over the past few days, Fire Marshal Cromer had the opportunity to provide fire extinguisher awareness and proper-use training to all three shifts of Georgetown/Scott County EMS.

The training included a brief classroom portion covering the different classes of fire extinguishers and the types of fires they are designed to handle, followed by hands-on practice using extinguishers in a controlled setting.

GSCEMS ambulances operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and being prepared for a fire emergency, including one involving an ambulance, is an important part of keeping both crews and patients safe.

Thank you to all of the Georgetown-Scott County EMS staff for participating and for their eagerness to learn and be better prepared. It was a pleasure working with each shift! A big thank you to the on and off duty fire personnel for keeping us all safe during each day of trainings.

Across Scott County today, families will gather, flags will fly, and communities will come together.

But at the heart of Memorial Day is remembrance.

The members of Scott County Fire Department proudly honor the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
