We bought this little conveyor for the food pantry for the project with Menifee county JAG program. They are doing great work partnering with the local food pantry. This item was on their action item list.

A note from Abbie on the speech she gave on Thursday night.

This past week I was given the amazing opportunity to present the sponsor remarks at the Junior Leadership Scott County Graduation Ceremony. I chose to focus on leadership advice for people who will soon be going out into the world on their own for the first time.

Nathaniel Price gave my family a wonderful introduction, and it reminded me that my desire to be a servant leader above all else comes from years of watching and learning. My advice focused on everything I learned from growing past high school, and becoming the truest and best version of myself that I can be at 23.

I started with Be Yourself. This feels so straightforward and we hear it all the time but it's actually quite difficult to determine. Who are we? What do we want to emulate in life? All of this goes into who we are, and at the end of the way we have to reckon with what we do and who are with ourselves above all else.

Stay curious was in my opinion the most important piece of advice I gave. Without a desire to learn I wouldn't be who I am today. I went out of my way to gather all the information I could. I have asked an obnoxious amount of questions in my life, and even the ones I didn't word right I wouldn't take back - because even then that was a lesson. If I didn't like to learn I wouldn't be myself.

My silliest piece of advice was make yourself a hype playlist, but I stand by it. Whenever I get nervous before I have to give a speech or presentation or do something intimidating, I put on my hype playlist and let it help fuel me. The playlist can be anything, any genre, a mix of genres. You can even do what I did in high school and just listen to the Mulan soundtrack on repeat. Listen to whatever gets you excited or confident.

Every leader needs to learn how to say no. When we're first getting started it can be so tempting to say 'Yes' to every opportunity, but if we say yes to everything we won't perform to the best of our ability. If we pick and choose what we do, we won't exhaust ourselves. If we want to truly be helpful, we need to be fresh.

My final piece of advice was leading from the desire to help. Any leadership position I’ve held purely for selfish or self-serving purposes has come back to bite me. Obviously we all network and we all want to get new opportunities, but if lead purely for our reasons who are we helping? Are we actually reaching out to people to help? Or are we focused on our own needs? Others needs don't need to come so far above your own, but as a leader they better be taken into consideration.

I have already learned so much since joining the family business, and I can't wait to see what other lessons I learn.

Triangle has three big announcements that we will be sharing by the end of the year. I think it is fitting to share one of those announcements today. You see, today would have been my Uncle James birthday. When James passed away, I wrote a little book just for the family on leadership lessons that I learned from him. I mainly did it for his grandsons who were just getting their lives and careers started. It ended up meaning a lot to a lot of people. Beginning in January 2025, TCG will be rolling out our own licensed training content. The James Principles for business. These leadership lessons apply to any type of business. (Manufacturing, Construction, a bank, any service industry). We are also designing the training in 3 levels to meet any budget. (1 hour long version, 10 hour version or 30 hour version). If you’re interested in learning more about strengthening your company culture or developing your people, give me a call or send me an email.

A few other notes:

Cash designed to logo. I asked him to find inspiration from James old jacket that is in a shadow box in my office.

Abbie and Cash are both helping with the training content to ensure that it fits with the younger generations that are just becoming leaders or entering the workforce.
