We apologize to all Smarty fans, but it’s time to salute Birdstone’s G1 Belmont Stakes win! The Marylou Whitney legacy resides at Old Friends along with his half-sister Bird Town and his daughter (and Bird Town’s BFF!) Stone Legacy.

Did you know that this week signals the end of the Triple Crown? The final leg of the Triple Crown, the G1 Belmont Stakes will be run on Saturday at Saratoga running 1 ¼ miles before moving back to its traditional distance and location at the newly renovated Belmont Park. Old Friends is currently the home of two Belmont winners – 2004 winner Birdstone and 2011 winner Ruler on Ice!
