BrotherMoon has grown quickly from a solo singer-songwriter project into a full band with a sound that feels big, layered, and full of energy.

With Brandon Brewer on guitar and vocals, Nathan Boggs on bass, and Chris Hmieleski on drums, the band brings together alternative folk rock with melodies that can feel calm one moment and powerful the next.

They describe their sound as a “sonic ocean,” and that feels like a good way to put it.

This Wednesday, Jason Kyle Smith joins us for Hump Day Happy Hour.

Jason started playing guitar as a way to process life, loss, and everything he couldn’t quite say any other way. Over time, that turned into writing lyrics, playing around campfires, stepping into open mics, and building the confidence to perform live.

His music is thoughtful, personal, and grounded in real life.

Jason Kyle Smith writes and performs from a place that feels real.

Raised in Pike County and now rooted in Georgetown, Jason found music after years of carrying grief, change, and life experience. His guitar became an outlet for thoughts and feelings, and songwriting became a way to tell his story.

He plays a mix of styles and genres, but his own songs are where you really get to hear who he is.

Jason’s music is personal in a way that feels honest and lived in. He picked up guitar later in life as a way to work through grief, family, and everything that comes with trying to make sense of your own story. What started as learning a few chords became songwriting, open mics, and eventually live performances.

Now, music is a major part of his life, and you can hear that in the way he plays.
