One of the most frequent questions we get asked here at Schmuck Lumber Gettysburg is “How do I know when my chainsaw needs sharpened?” The best way to tell is simply to keep an eye on the shaving coming from the saw. If you begin to see dust or small particles it is time to sharpen. With a good sharp chain you should see wood chips and the saw should bite with very little user effort put into the saw.
