Did you know that Olalla has a lavender festival? It’s in its 3rd year now and I’m excited to be hosting mini workshops all weekend! You can register in advance to secure your spot and save a little $. Or drop in a space available basis. Make a whole day of it with vendors, live music, food booths/trucks, lavender farm tours, demos, and classes by Dream Maker and others. Don’t miss the fun! One of the challenges with teaching fabric dyeing is that most facilities have insufficient sinks to be able to rinse all the dyed fabrics. So, students usually have to rinse at home. This gives more time for the colors to develop, but we don’t get to share in our successes during the class. Thankfully about 2/3 of the class opted to share their results through a text message thread so we all got to experience the art. Thank you to everyone who attended this workshop at Fiber Fusion Northwest.
