This city is where housing affordability worsened the most — and it's NOT in California 12/28/2021

Housing affordability is on its way out the door in 2022. Rents are at an all time high and expected to continue to increase in the coming year. Mortgage rates are relatively low but expected to increase over the next year. Housing Supply is still fairly low which is going to keep demand and competition high. Home prices are expected to climb over the next year by at least 7%. We are in one of the worst affordability markets in the US, and its only expected to get worse. If you were sitting on the bench waiting for the market to drop to buy a house you might be missing the boat completely. For years we've all been watching the market, and saying that we are eventually going to hit California pricing, well, Its nearly here. You can still buy a home for less than you are renting in MOST areas but that is going to change this year. If you've been sitting on the fence you might want to think about buying now. We might only be going up from here.
