Marc Krebs, founder of Krebs Customs passed away this weekend.

Marc was truly an ambassador of the AK platform in the US. He always came from a place of helping others and never saw himself as the legend that he was! Undoubtably was Marc not only of the greatest AK smiths in the US, he was unrivaled in his willingness to spread knowledge and act selflessly for the benefit of the community.

Two quick stories that reflect this. In 2018 XTech Tactical hosted an AK meet and greet and build showcase at Shot Show. When I reached out to Marc he thought I was insane to include him with the likes of Jim Fuller & Brandon Herrera. I flattered him up to where he finally agreed. The line for Marc was every bit as long and the meet and greet lasted well over an hour more than scheduled. In the end I went to Marc in kinda the "I told you so posture" to which Marc responded "People just must have been bored".

The second comes with what is now known as Zestava USA. They received their first importation of AK's into the US. For whatever reason they hadn't planned on having to open the magwells to double stack. They are in IL, as is Marc, so when they called me for help, I reached out to Marc. He nearly dropped everything and prioritized helping the Zastava USA team. He had never met them, and frankly owed them nothing. And when I later learned how little he charged, I asked him why, he stated for him he wanted to always start with lending a hand. He also stated he wanted to see more good AK's come into the country and hoped to have a voice on improvements back to Serbia.

Marc, you were a legend and always had remarkable humility. I hope when you look down from above you will see how truly special you were! You will be missed but never forgotten
