Vitamin K helps our bodies make blood clots to stop bleeding. Newborns who don't get a Vitamin K shot are at risk for Vit K Deficiency Bleeding (VKDB), which means they cannot make clots and cannot stop bleeding. We are more than happy to discuss why this vitamin injection at birth is SO important and answer any questions.

Infants under 6 months should NOT be given water, even in summer!
