Are we looking at an era where gamers are going unnoticed?
Who else can you think of? Who would we have missed out on watching?

It was ALLLLLWAY the same solution my coach would propose. I’m in the box and he yelling at me from the dugout, “Wider! Wider! Wider! WIDER!”
By the time he’s at the 4th “wider”, I have my front foot on the chalk in the front of the box and my back foot is dang near on the back line.
What was the logic here? Simplify! If I can take out the need to pay attention to the lower half, that’s one less thing I had to worry about. And really, it all ties back to timing in one way or another. But I felt like I could wait on the ball longer, I could see the ball better, and my hips were FIRING to get that barrel going through the zone.
It wasn’t the sexiest stance but it alllllways got me back on track. So why not just hit like that all the time? Because I’m just like you…hardheaded lol.
In a nutshell:
I don’t believe that hitting with scissor kick is a good or bad thing. I think it’s simply a product of the intentions of that hitter during that swing. I’ve hit with a scissor kick and I’ve hit without a scissor kick but whenever I’ve done it, it’s not something I was conscious about.
I can’t tell you with full certainty, though that the times that I did hit with a scissor kick, I was making a concentrated effort to try to drive the ball the other way. So when you hear instructors talk about direction or extension they are talking about the intentionality behind what you’re trying to accomplish at the plate.
Naturally, most hitters, want to extend to the pull side. This is why we typically see home runs to the pull side.Without a doubt I can say that hitting with the scissor kick promotes the ability to drive the ball backside with authority.
