How we began
The Edible Prairie Project, Cent$ible Nutrition, The City of Gillette, and the Council of Community Services are working together to start a Free Little Pantry Project in Gillette. The Gillette News Record donated 5 used newspaper boxes to be refurbished into our pantries. The city of Gillette has given us 2 locations, along with the Council Food Bank and Salvation Army. New Vision Auto detailing in Gillette has painted each pantry free of charge. Students 4 Change have decorated our first 2 pantries, so they are welcoming and to be piece of art as well as a pantry. Food drives will be held on a regular basis with the support of the Edible Prairie Project. University of Wyoming Cent$ible Nutrition Program Coordinator and Cent$ible Nutrition participant volunteers will check the pantries frequently to stock, check for safety and monitor it’s use.
