More Than 1,000 Birds Collided With a Single Chicago Building in One Night — IDA Chicago UPDATE ON McCORMICK PLACE WINDOWS AND BIRD STRIKES Weather conditions, a pulse of migrating warblers, and bright lights combined to create a wave of bird deaths. McCormick Place has taken action to mitigate the problem!

While today is my actual birthday, my kids and my wife threw a 70's for 70 Groovy Birthday Bash on Aug. 17. It was a totally rad party with lots of family and friends. Plus mirror balls, classic rock, colorful outfits, and old photos of all my hair styles through the years.

Gigantic thanks to my daughter Megan for the planning, granddaughter Nora for the cool decorating ideas, son Gordon and his girlfriend Hannah for stringing lights and making the disco ball spin with sparkling lights, and my niece Micki for helping with setup of the photo gallery down memory lane. And thanks to Heather for making it all happen!

A huge thank you to everyone who came, especially those who traveled. I’m grateful to have so many hip people in my life!
